Cosmetics giant Estee Lauder is expanding its partnership with brand ambassador Karlie Kloss’s non-profit Kode with Klossy. The program in question is aimed at the education and inspiration of women in tech, and plays into Estee Lauder’s strong commitment to both technological innovation and female empowerment. Together, Estee Lauder and Kode with Klossy have launched a “multi-faceted program” of summer camp scholarship which will teach Lauder’s own coding curriculum, and engage students in the design of a September website launch for a new lip collection – featuring Kloss herself as the face of the brand.

Estee Lauder’s share price has appreciated by 41% so far this year

Speaking about the program itself, Kloss said: “We wanted our scholars to experience the power that technology can have within the beauty industry, especially with how consumers are interacting with brands today on websites and mobile.”

She went on to describe the benefits of working alongside an iconic brand like Estee Lauder: “We are so excited to expand our partnership with Estée Lauder, and continue building upon our shared mission of inspiring young women to discover their passions in STEAM. Together, we are showing our Kode With Klossy scholars the many creative ways science and tech intersect with the world around us, as well as connecting them with inspiring women in the industry, past and present, from the legacy of Mrs. Estée Lauder—an incredible female entrepreneur—to the female tech leaders at The Estée Lauder Companies today.”

Jon Roman, Estee Lauder’s senior vice president of consumer marketing and online, added: “We’ve given the scholars real-life code, and we are looking to them to play with it, come up with ideas and give us feedback on what we can use and do for the real launch.”
